This week I will be working on my creatively built wood kiln on the hill at my home.
It is exciting to me to open my wood kiln project up for the season. Life is ripe for construction. It will be warm not hot and without a lot of bugs (just yet). I have the company of fine men and women all clearly with a love and passion to see this kiln born. I will post pictures as I get them. Tomorrow we will be putting a second layer of recycled kiln brick and high temperature castable refractory onto the outside of the electric kiln bodies. We are exploring how to build a wood fired kiln from repurposed, re-used, reclaimed and recycled parts. There is very little new parts. I did end up buying some brick for the chimney because I ended up with a woefully small amount of chimney brick.
